Hi all

I have an app that sends out an activation email for a sign up, comes through everywhere OK apart from TPG.

I've tested the email spam checker websites and it comes back fine, like 1/10 which says no action is required..

I doubt I will get a response from TPG.

It comes through to Gmail, Bigpond, Hotmail and other popular mail sites, but just not TPG... Grrr

Any ideas?

If you can, try rewriting the content and subject of the activation email and seeing if it has any effect on TPG. It could be seeing a certain keyword or phrase in your email and mistakenly identifying it as spam.

It could also be the headers sent with your email. Perhaps go through them and make sure that they are all in order and valid.

Don't know if this will help but this is my 2 step checklist to make sure places like bigpond, tpg, iinet and also thosethat use Trend Micro services accept emails:

1. Make sure there is a reverse name for the IP that is used to send email
2. SPF record exists? - Not necessary to have one but a good idea - if the client domain alreadyhas a SPF record add your IP as an authorised sender for emails

Oh what is was, the php mail script was not putting in Return-path: so the server was putting in annonomous@server.host.name

working now! yes!
