I'd just like to wish everyone on the Port80 forums a safe and merry Christmas (if that's your holiday of choice, if not, insert your holiday with same sentiment) and a prosperous New Year.

The past year has been a bit rough with the financial crisis hitting, but AWIA have certainly pulled off some kick ass events (BarCamp 2.0, Edge of the Web, WA Web Awards and of course the monthly meet-ups) so thanks to the committee who tirelessly beaver away behind the scenes to pull it off! I'm sure we'll see new, improved and bigger than ever events in the new year.

Also of note was Miles Burke publishing his first book - The Principles of Successful Freelancing - congrats.

Once again, stay safe and drink plenty this festive season (provided your not driving - double demerits are in force).

Merry Christmas to all and have a happy new year. Cheers!

Thanks Matt! We've had a great year as AWIA, and I look forward to 2009 bringing us some great events as well!

Cheers

Miles.

Ditto Matt! (include a pat on the back for yourself too!!)

AWIA rocked the later part of the year & proved that the membership was indeed well worth it! I just got to figure out how to work less & party more now! (and did I hear somewhere that Miles published a book? ;) )

So to my new friends, associates, vendors & new contractors .... Have a SAFE & Happy Holidays! :D

BTW ... Holidays Rock!!!

Thanks Cindy, Web Mixed Grill was a lot of fun to get started. Sadly we didn't make it through all the days.

But that's ok, we'll start organising it much earlier in 2009 so people have more chance to contribute!

Web Mixed Grill - Still it was a good first crack.

I think the problem was the contributors were spread too thin, need more peeps stepping up.

Stay SAFE for Christmas everyone. And yay to Matt on being done in TEE too ;)

6:41pm on Christmas day, Kay?

If you weren't drunk there's something wrong with you :)

All the best for 2009, folks -- I for one am nervous about it, but let's hope we can all weather the recession :)

I'm over nervous, just going to give it my best shot ever, focus 100% on the business for once and take it as it comes.

hope y'all had a merry Christmas - I have been way to busy on holiday for the last few weeks to post on p80 - As Matt pointed out we have had some serious crisis and it does not look like it is going to get any better even the Australian Cricket team is waning - Some positives are It looks like the year of Liverpool, hopefully WCE will stay dead and buried and Freo find a way to use their youth.. All up I am really looking forward to 2009 as I have that feeling this is THE year...
