Hi All!

I'm in the market for a new multifunction printer.

Budget is $250(max)
Printer will mainly be used for document printing with a few images.
I don't need a fax.
just a printer and a scanner
Scanner isn't important if the specs are meet below.

Spec that I want on the printer:
- Double sided print
- Print to the edge on A4
- wifi

Thats really it, If you guys could recommend some printer that would be great.

thank

You could look at the Epson TX600FW (http://www.epson.com.au/products/multifunctional/epsonTX600FW.asp)...

We just bought the TX800FW (http://www.epson.com.au/products/multifunctional/stylusTX800FW.asp) (literally - it's sitting in the box next to me atm:)), and the feature spec is certainly impressive for the price (picked ours up for $330, RRP is $399).

The 600FW goes for $227 at Officeworks atm, and there is a $40 cashback from Epson. It's not double sided though...

The TX800FW can take a duplexer attachment ($99) - but there is a promotion atm, if you buy from Harvey Norman, and send in your details, you get the duplexer free. That's what sold me on the unit. HN price was $399 but they price matched to Officeworks. You get $40 cashback too, so while it's a little over your budget, it's got a very good feature set, and the 800 is a 6 colour printer (the 600 is a 4 colour).

All the Epson promotion details are here (https://www.clubepson.com.au/competitions/data/index_dollar.asp) - what you get depends on where you buy it from.

I should say, there is also a 700W that sits in between - that one lacks a fax but can take a duplexer unit like the 800FW. It does not have a document feeder though unlike the other two.

And yes, I did lots of research on this the last week or so before buying :)

I checked out the TX800FW. I like the design and the touch screen. I saw the promotion for the free duplex attachment.
I think the TX800fw would be a good choice if I was planning on printing photos.

I'm probably going to buy the Canon MX860. It looks ugly though but it's got everything I need.

Does anyone here have a Canon MX860?

I've checked the epson site and it says the free duplex attachment is only for the tx700w.

I've checked the epson site and it says the free duplex attachment is only for the tx700w.

The initial part does, but when you read through each individual model you notice that Harvey Norman also offer the free auto duplex attachment with the TX800FW.

I just bought one myself, and it's a very nice unit.

My Friend has the tx700w. He has an inking system hooked up to it which.

The reviews I'm reading on the tx700w is that it uses a lot of ink does te tx800fw use a lot of ink?

No idea, we don't print a lot, so it's hard to say. For 'in office' use, I always print in draft mode anyway, no need for anything fancy.

We just bought a Samsung CLX-6210FX for our office. Its excellent. Has integrated scanner (duplex fed), photocopier, printer, fax. Fully stand alone unit which plugs straight into a router. It was 650 bucks tho worth every cent!

You can also scan straight to a USB stick, which is hella cool! If you dont get a scanner with this sort of functionality, its pretty much useless, because scanner drivers are never nice.

Our process is that when a client comes in, we scan in all documentation taken at that point, mock up web designs etc., and its put straight into our CRM against that person. Makes things very easy to manage.

I bought the tx700w today. I really wanted the tx800fw but you could only get the duplex from HN.

I guess I can live without the ADF and fax

$220 for the printer plus $80 for the continuous inking system. I highly recommend the inking system if you want to save a lot of money on ink.

Thanks for all the help guys.
