View Full Version : GST. Overseas sales exempt?

Might be a silly question, but am I right in thinking that if you sell a product (a licence to use some software you wrote) to anyone outside of Australia you don't need to charge them GST.

It just sucks that the Aussie dollar is so strong right now. Exchange rates are pooh for us code exporters.

Likely to be that way for little while as we are more stable economy wise.

Its swings and roundabouts - some years its good to buy overseas, some years its good to sell. It evens out in the long run :)
