I like the aesthetics and style of the site. The graphics are cool but switching the navigation from left to right and back again is a bit of a no-no. I got lost for a moment there
Website took too long to load, so I bailed.

the scrolling is happening in /resource/javascript/curious.js
It's using prototype/scriptalicious and Effect.scrollTo

nice, great eye candy, but usability #fail

I never thought of the menu. It is very difficulted to know where you are. I do agree.

I think it's probably too bright and busy. I visited, has a click around, but have no idea what it was actually for...

At first glance, i expected that I'd hate it and have trouble with it.
But then I actually found that I didn't.
Even the scrolling and navigation moving around, which is an obvious usability no-no, didn't cause me any problems.
So it's different, visually impressive, and actually works. Winner.
