I'm planning to register 2 domain names

both domain names are the same
.com.au , and .net.au
both domain names don't include any keyword I want to rank
both domain names will be register the same day
both domain names will have the same content, uploaded the same day.

ah... and both domain names will have the same inbound links

what domain name is going to rank higher?

Any bids?

will you not get pinged for duplicate content? or are both domains going to serve up totally different content?

interesting point.

I plan to have the same content in both sites... mainly because my objective is to see how google works on .com.au vs net.au

I Still don't know if I should host them in different servers or in the same server ....

whichever one google finds first.

you can never completely isolate all external factors and one extra link could ruin your whole experiment. To be truly scientific you'd have to run the same test with a number of different domain name pairs.

Personally I can think of better ways to waste my time :D

Best case scenario is that some keywords will get you Top 10 results for one site, and other keywords for the other, but never for both.

And Kittykat's right, that sounds like a waste of time. You really wanna have fun with domains and shit? Make 'em both that shitbag sales letter style with different content and then see how they rank.

OOOH! Better yet, take a page from Meftos and the Beagle and measure leads and conversions instead of just rank. It's all about the long-tails and leads now baby.

Apologies mate, I didn't even know that you'd already done the sales letter style thingo to your own site.

For reals mate, sorry, wasn't having a go at you I just hadn't clicked on it yet.

I'd just say work on good content and build a community around your niche area.

Works for me!

Hey
Franki...

I don't provide "courses" is just a resource where some of my clients can learn about different aspects of SEO.

No certification, no diploma, just a resource for them to learn about things that I guess everyone in this forum nows.

Anyway, Thanks for comments ;)

I didn't explain it properly.

Check the site, it's free to join so you can understand.

What i was trying to say, it not like a "Bruce Clay" Conventional "course". ;)
