TBH I don't see much use of forums when it comes to development. There is so much info out on the internet that by the time I've crafted my question I've already answered it in 10 different ways.

I think face-to-face meetups for .NET devs would be more effective, especially from a networking perspective. I only seem to run into PHP and Ruby developers @ port 80 meets, which is interesting but not much use (like those languages, haha ZING!).

Anyone ever been to the Perth .NET Community of Practice (http://perthdotnet.org) meets before? Only just discovered their website. Perth ALT.NET group http://perth.ozalt.net looks interesting too.

Ah - been a while since i've posted in here...got busy and then life..well, you know how it can catch up with you!

Even tho the thread is somewhat dated and there's a bit of OT content too, i still wanted to quickly add in a bit of info here.

I saw that there was a few that's been/going to build an ASP.Net MVC based CMS..

did you know that there's an open-source project running which is a CMS system based on ASP.Net MVC?

Orchard Project was started by some guys from the community, in conjunction with some of the top ASP.Net guys from Microsoft (Phil Haack, Scott Hanselman has a finger in it) like Bertrand Le Roy..

Can download it from here:

http://orchard.codeplex.com/

It's a pretty good platform. very stable and feature rich + it's growing constantly.
