Yes it's American Independence Day and we'll be holding all these truths as self-evident:

1. Darcy Laycock will be talking about the future of the web and why you should be so excited you just can't hide it.

You know Darcy. He's that super bright, young talent that works for Discovr. Which would be okay if he weren't so NICE.

2. So the theme is the Future of the Web.

Want to run a break-out group that night on that? Suggest away. Leo Treasure is doing one on Bitcoin.

3. We'll have 60 plus people there. It's at Spacecubed, 45 St Georges Tce, Perth. Ground floor.

4. Reminder: Australian Web Awards are now open.

5. Reminder: The Crowdies site is now live and the bloody thing doesn't work in IE7 and wouldn't it be nice if someone volunteered to help fix it?

Superbig thanks to Bret Treasure and his helpful and obedient-yet-still-intelligent minions for yet another fantastic and wildly successful Port80 last night.

It's a Spacecubed, and if you're not coming to these then something is probably wrong with you, because it's awesome. It's not a bar, but Treszh brings beer and wine. And Coke and Sprite, because he friggin' ROCKS like that.

Plus, there's heaps and heaps of web people there and most of them talk about cool shit and there was even the guy from that show "Offspring" in a nice suit, trying to hire PHP devs for mining companies. Wickedsweet.

So yeah, Bret you're awesome, thanks again.
