as far as looks goes, it's a bit dated. looks like it's designed to fit into a small resolution, that was probably the norm when it was first created.

things like background images/gradients, drop shadows and bevels are out of vogue, and the navigation is unconventional

i'd also get rid of any popups you have (for things like domain pricing) and just show the information straight to the user on the page.

the new hotness is crisp and clean, straightforward, easy communication. here's a couple of sites i think look contemporary.

http://eduka.com.au/
http://www.iinet.net.au/index.html
http://www.speakinteractive.com/

naturally you don't have to make your website just another Web 2.0 clone. just may give you some ideas to bring it a bit more up to date. have some fun with it, improving stuff is awesome.

what i do like about your site is it feels personal. you get a sense you're dealing with a real person. it's not just another small-guy-attempting-to-sound-like-a-corporation site. don't lose that personal feel to your content / writing, it's great.

Thanks for the feedback, i didnt think the website looked too dated.
ive been told that the navigation looks good, but other than that, what do you think would require most attention?

I mostly agree with Heist. The background pattern makes it look old-school, and the navigation is kind of hanging all by itself in the middle of nowhere.

It also feels a bit cramped - all the various sections of the site are spaced quite closely together and they're shouting for attention.

yeah more padding between the chunks of content, and don't try and cram them all onto one screen - decide what's most important and focus on those.

I just realised it's a tables-based layout too - not only is your "look" outdated, the code is outdated too. Look into CSS layout or getting your markup to validate according to W3C standards. It's the least a professional should do these days.

Firefox looks pants on Windows too, but I see in IE8 what you intended and the navigation across the top IS an improvement, albeit a small one.

You might wanna do your experiments on a test version of the site
