2 x Software Engineer - PHP / SQL / Open Source
What would you say to a job working with one of the fastest growing open source educational tools in the world? We are offering an opportunity for two enthusiastic software engineers to work as part of a growing team in a software development role, working primarily with Moodle (http://www.moodle.org/). These roles are based in the recently formed Perth office. The work involves developing bug fixes, new features, and integrations of Moodle with third party systems. Your code will help support mission-critical learning systems used by hundreds of thousands of students at universities, TAFEs, schools, RTOs and corporates around Australia and overseas. Salary is negotiable depending on skill / experience Ideally we are looking for good thinkers, fast learners, and most importantly a passion for programming. The below requirements detail the desired skills: Requirements: * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Strong problem solving ability in relation to software development and bug fixes * Good PHP programming skills * Good knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL experience is a plus) * Good knowledge of Linux systems is desirable * Knowledge of integration technologies like SOAP, REST, LDAP, etc is a plus. * Knowledge of source code management (eg.
